The Gron (central Porehrone) region is located in the Bansk\u00e1 Bystrica region. Its regional centres are the towns of \u017diar nad Hronom, \u017darnovica, and Nov\u00e1 Ba\u0148a. Towns are ideal starting points for trips to the surrounding landscape. Excellent transport options to the region are ensured by the main railway line Bratislava - Zvolen, and the R1 expressway followed by a local road network. Bratislava Airport is approximately 130 km away.<\/p>\n\n\n

TRAVELLING BY CAR<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thanks to its location at the intersection of roads, and proximity to the R1 expressway, the Gron Region is perfectly accessible from every direction. The R1 expressway crosses the valley of the Hron River. Exit the R1 expressway near (municipalities) Hronsk\u00fd Be\u0148adik, Nov\u00e1 Ba\u0148a, \u017darnovica, Bzenica, Leh\u00f4tka pod Brehmi, and \u017diar nad Hronom. The region is accessible in one hour's drive from the nearby bigger and smaller cities, i.e., Bansk\u00e1 Bystrica, Nitra, Zvolen, Bansk\u00e1 \u0160tiavnica, Levice, Prievidza, Trnava, Partiz\u00e1nske, Handlov\u00e1, Tlma\u010de. It takes 1 hour 30 minutes to drive from Bratislava to Nov\u00e1 Ba\u0148a. Free parking is available in the towns of \u017diar nad Hronom and \u017darnovica. TRAVELLING BY TRAIN<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The train stations, which can be reached by high-speed and express trains, are located in the towns of \u017diar nad Hronom, \u017darnovica, Nov\u00e1 Ba\u0148a. Additional stops of passenger trains: Hronsk\u00fd Be\u0148adik, Tekovsk\u00e1 Breznica, Rudno nad Hronom, Voznica, Bzenica. With express trains from Bratislava you can comfortably reach the GRON Region in 2 hours, 30 minutes, and from Bansk\u00e1 Bystrica in approximately one hour. It takes 4 hours to travel from Ko\u0161ice to Nov\u00e1 Ba\u0148a. TRAVELLING BY BUS<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Long-distance buses stop in the towns of \u017diar nad Hronom, Nov\u00e1 Ba\u0148a, and \u017darnovica. These towns have direct bus connections to nearby district towns, regional towns, and to the Slovak capital city. There are transfers from long-distance buses to local buses which will take you to more remote corners of the region. SAD Zvolen is the transport company in charge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
