Ba\u0148a)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>This dominant landmark of the town was built in the 14th century, most probably as a royal house.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It was the official seat of the mining count, where miners handed precious metals over to test its purity. This Gothic fortress originally had four floors, and was rebuilt following a fire in the first half of the 18th century, when the third floor was removed and a square tower added. The Pohronie museum has resided in the town hall since 1972. Several permanent exhibitions are installed in the museum (exposition of prehistoric habitation in the \u017diar Basin; town history; glassmaking; ethnography, art, and history exhibitions; Putikov v\u0155\u0161ok volcano, etc.).
