1. TIP - RECREATIONAL COMPLEX ZVONIČKA

Head to Zvonička complex, where you can choose to start hiking to the Háj Lookout tower, or shorter trail to the Red Rock ("Červená skala") and the Raven Rock ("Havrania skala"). You will be well entertained right in the Zvonička complex. It offers excellent refreshments in its snack bar, with a fireplace, a playground, summer concerts, and let's not forget about climbing the via ferrata with children. Climbing equipment rental available. It's a short walk to the Kohútov chapel, you can take a stroll in the Garden Forest, or walk to gamekeeper's lodge Šarvíz.

2. TIP - MINING EDUCATIONAL TRAIL

Lovers of history and mining should not hesitate to wander around the town and the surrounding hills, and seek traces of the vanished glory of this royal mining town. What should you expect? Visits to shafts and underground adits, winches, a steeple tower - "klopačka" - which served to call miners to work, a miners' shelter, the site where Potter's coal-fired engine used to stand, a walk in the nature, all await you on the two mining trails. 3. TIP - BIKE AND SKI PARK DROZDOVO

If you come in winter months, you cannot miss out on Drozdovo, with good options for accommodation, and skiing on a gentle slope. In recent months, Drozdovo has become a bike park, with 7 single trails available when you get off the ski lift with your bike. A great and easy hike can be done from Drozdov to the hill Veľký Inovec. Even cyclists or cross-country skiers will not find it hard to get to the hilltop. Stop at the Inovec cottage on your way to the summit.

4. TIP - POHRONIE MUSEUM

A museum always worth visiting, instead of rainy days only. Examples of its permanent exhibitions include a functional moving model of Potter's steam engine, or a whole room dedicated to Putikov vŕšok - the youngest volcano in Central Europe. Town Hall in Nová Baňa

The dominant landmark of the town was built in the 14th century, most probably as a royal house and mining count's residence. This Gothic fortress originally had four floors, and was rebuilt in the mid-18th century following a fire. The third floor was removed, and a square tower added. Since 1952, the building has housed the Pohronské Museum. Nowadays, the museum houses several permanent exhibitions (regarding the town history, glassmaking, historical clocks, the Putikov vŕšok volcano, etc.) and regularly updated exhibitions. There is a Late Classicist statue of Holy Trinity in front of the town hall. It is made of rhyolite extracted in Nová Baňa. Jozef Neuschl-Faragó is the sculptor of the statue. The museum is open every day except Saturday.

5. TIP - EDUCATIONAL TRAIL VOJŠÍN

No tourist should miss out on the Educational Trail Vojšín. It starts in the village of Stará Huta and ends at the Andesite Stone Sea in the village of Malá Lehota. A 4-hour walk will lead you to the Starohutský waterfall, the rocks Jašekova skala and Sedlová skala, the fir of Masaryk, Bujakov peak, and to finish your walk, a climb to Vojšín hill to enjoy its beautiful views. You can join the trail from different places, check the tourist map.
