The Hron River, the landmark of the central Hron River valley, is the most popular Slovak river among watermen. Districts Žiar nad Hronom and Žarnovica are separated by a 40 km-long navigable stretch of WW I. level of difficulty. The river flow here is slow and calm, which makes rafting enjoyable even for beginners, or families with children.
Rafting or canoeing allows you to admire the surrounding mountains, nature, and castle ruins. There are several harbour docks in the route to have a rest, or go camping. We recommend you stop in Drevenica Revište. It offers refreshments, and trips around, or just stay overnight.
