The central Hron River valley – the GRON region is characterized by mountain peaks which often do not exceed 1000 m.a.s.l., endless deep valleys, scattered settlements, but also industrial forests for the logging industry. The volcanic bedrock witnessed the extraction of ores in the remote past, and nowadays welcomes tourists, nature-lovers, and forest enthusiasts.
The Pohronský Inovec, Vtáčnik, or Štiavnické vrchy mountains do not have majestic impressive peaks to attract visitors from near and far. Come closer, and you will soon realize it is not easy at all to reach a splendid lookout. Steep slopes often surprise even well-trained tourists, sites such as Kečka nad Bralcami hall will impress visitors with its resemblance to the national park “Slovak Paradise”.
Nevertheless, mass tourism has not reached these distant places, although we have places that are more popular among visitors. Secluded places with peaceful atmosphere and clean fresh air prevail.
