HIKING TRAIL - RUINS OF TEPLICA CASTLE
The remains of the castle from the 14th century are located in the hills above the village of Sklené Teplice. Only the uneven terrain and the remains of the walls of the fortified settlement can be seen here, which, however, played an important role in the past. The castle belonged to a system of castles that guarded the passage along the road along the Hron.
Nowadays, tourists can reach it from the village of Sklené Teplice. From the centre, follow the yellow tourist sign. After a 45-minute walk up a steeper hill, the trail meets the green trail, which after 20 minutes will lead you to the castle itself. Below the castle there is an information board about its history. From the top you can see the hills with the castles Revište or Žakýl, which were in the past in visual connection.
Back to Sklené Teplice you can take the same route or at the crossroads of the green and yellow signs you can take the green trail to the direction “Under the Capitular Cliffs”. After a 20-minute steeper descent, this will lead you to a recreation area with a pond, from where you can return to the village in about 30 minutes on a dirt road. The route leading to the castle is also crossed by a cycle path and the more fit can follow the green trail to the village of Bzenica, or combine the hike with a circuit to Kečka nad Bralcami near Hlinik nad Hronom.
There is also a shorter ascent route to the castle - from the village of Repište, but it is not signposted, the ascent from here takes about 30 minutes.
