The cycling route "Over the Waterfall" is the shortest of the circuits near Nová Baňa, but also the most beautiful. Like other circuits, it starts on the parking lot of Saint Elisabeth Square in the town of Nová Baňa.There is a map of local bike tour circuits on the square.
The entire circuit is 18.7 km long, and is suitable for more experienced cyclists. It is signposted and bidirectional. The recommended direction is: Nová Baňa - Zagrb - Hájenka - Stará Huta - Chotár - Sedlová cesta - Viničná cesta - Borina - Nová Baňa.
The cycle route leads through forest roads, along an asphalt road, and access to the Starohutský waterfall runs along hiking trails. There you will need to get off the bike for a while, leave the cycling path, and walk about 300 metres to the waterfall. However, the view and the photo are certainly worth it. Surrounded by rocky scenery, the waterfall is one of the most beautiful in Central Slovakia.
You are likely to see forest logging on this cycling path, or the work activities of local forestry company "Mestské lesy Nová Baňa s.r.o.". Ride and cross with caution.
