In 2021, the forests of Drastvica and Kojatín (in Štiavnické vrchy) were included on the list of primeval forests of Slovakia. Drastvica surrounds the hill of the same name situated between the villages of Voznica and Rudno nad Hronom. It is the natural habitat of white fir in oak forests, with the oldest sessile (winter) oaks being approximately 400 years old. The area is under the fifth level of nature protection, without any official trails to take you there. The Rudná Magistrála (over rocky ridges) route, which starts in the village of Rudno nad Hronom, partially passes through these wild forests.
The Kojatín nature reserve extends on the opposite side of the Voznica village, with the red tourist trail on its boundaries. The route begins behind the village near the Hereditary Adit of Emperor Joseph II, and leads a smaller hill - "Smrkáčik" - crowned with a cross. After crossing the Kojatín boundary, follow the blue tourist trail to the former Slavkov gamekeeper's lodge. It will lead you to the majestic giant sequoia and the Gabrielka spring.
