The ruined Breznica Castle was a relatively extensive guard castle over the village of Tekovská Breznica from the second half of the 13th century built by the Archbishop of Esztergom. It was owned by historic figures such as Matúš Čák Trenčiansky, Ján Jiskra and King Matthias Corvinus. Gradually, its importance began to decline and it probably disappeared at the end of the Middle Ages. The remains of the walls of the core castle structure are still visible.
