The waterfall on the "Pokutsky potok" stream is a natural monument, and protects the largest waterfall in the Ponitrie PLA (Protected Landscape Area).

It is not difficult to visit the waterfall "Pokutský vodopád", but you must leave the marked trail to do so. From the official hiking trail leading from the village of Kľak to the Vtáčnik hill, turn right at tourist lodge "Partizánska chata", and follow the unmarked path; the second option is to walk down asphalt road along the "Pokutský potok" stream from the southern boundary of the Ostrý Grúň village.
The hike from the village of Ostrý Grúň takes 2.5 hours.
